Happy New Year!
This year I'm adding something new to my studio work day that I'm very excited to share with you. I will create a brand new concept drawing each week for 52 weeks. How is this different than what I normally do you might ask? Well, I often divide up periods of working - a couple of weeks spent concentrating on concepts, then a month doing full scale drawings followed by weeks alternating between oil and watercolor works. This year long endeavor will add a new flow to my work because I get to draw every week!
Each piece will be slightly bigger than the normal concepts I do - in the range of 4 x 6 inches. They will be in a variety of media and subjects, a great deal from my Shael Ovalis world of course, but also Greek/Roman Mythology and Religious works. Many will even have gold leaf. All will be unframed.
These pieces will be offered to my followers exclusively through my website and Facebook. The works from this series will not be exhibited in any other form this year. They will be specially priced and each will come with a certificate and description of the work, its story if you will, stamped and signed on the work, and on the certificate. Lastly, these are working drawings for me - I will keep copies of the concepts to further develop. At some point many of these will be seen as larger scale works.
It is just a little way to say thank you for all the years of support and to make 2017 a productive and creative year.
